Clear the Static, Call in the Signal
How one untrue belief can block what you’re trying to attract
After a year of revisions, this week I finally sent my book proposal out to a few agents. Reaching this point felt amazing! Yet what happened right after I hit send was… interesting.
I became triggered.
A sudden uptick in my heart rate, a slow-building wave of feelings cresting into what felt like anxiety, alerted me that something deeper was surfacing.
I had felt fine just moments before, so what was it about reviewing those submission requirements and hitting ‘send’ that had me so spooked? And honestly—terrified?
I did what I do when strong energies or emotions rise: I closed the door and reconnected with a grounding practice. I took time to feel my feet on the ground and breathe.
Once I felt safe and steady, I gently inquired: What am I really feeling?
The first layer was straight-up vulnerability. It’s vulnerable putting yourself out there.
The next layer was self-doubt, an old visitor I know well. But why was it showing up now? I went deeper. Yes, I truly know this work is going to land big. Yes, I do know this is already unfolding for me.
Yet—I didn’t fully believe it. A tiny voice whispered, “It can’t ever happen for you.”
If this were an excavation, this would be the moment the shovel hit something solid and buried—a relic from another time, still shaping my reality.
And that’s when I realized: I was believing a lie.
Knowing vs. Believing
There’s a difference between knowing and believing.
Knowing connects you to your soul’s truth. For instance, you may know that life is good (even if painful at times); you may know that you are infinitely loved (even if not currently partnered).
Belief, however, is based on perception—on experiences filtered through the mind. A belief may or may not be true.
When soul-knowing and belief are in conflict, that’s an intuitive signal: “Something untrue is creating static in your energy field.”
And that static? It muddies your magnetic field.
You can say you want something—but if you’re holding an unconscious belief that contradicts it, it’s like trying to beam out joy while wearing a scowl. The signal gets crossed. Your light dims.

Getting to the Root of Things
Where did this false belief come from?
I asked my inner guidance. After a moment, a memory drifted in: a phone call, a face, a feeling.
A few years ago, I wrote, designed, and self-published an oracle deck. I would’ve loved for a traditional publisher to pick it up, but the path felt murky. Around that time, a literary agent reached out. They’d read one of my essays and asked if I was writing a book. “No,” I said, “but I do have this deck…”
We scheduled a call. It began pleasantly enough, but soon, the tone shifted. They began listing what I lacked:
“You have to be famous to get a book deal these days.”
“You need a much bigger following to land an agent.”
“You need a public speaking platform with an established audience.”
“Your first book should’ve sold more copies than it did.”
“If you're not a debut author, no one will take a chance on you.”
These weren’t new ideas. You can find some version of them on nearly every submission page. But hearing them strung together in real-time… it landed like a locked door slamming shut.
It felt icky. Off. Misaligned.
Who decides what’s possible? Did they know that none of it was possible for me?
Of course not. But I took it in anyway.
Returning to the Clear Light of Truth
Imagine you are a radiant, loving light (you are).
Now imagine every lie you’ve believed creates a smudge on your brightness, distorting how you shine into the world.
When you say you want something, but subconsciously believe it isn’t possible?
That distortion weakens your ability to magnetize it.
This is what we’re all up against. Clearing those distortions is essential.
I knew I had to clear this if I wanted to walk forward in full alignment.
For me, that meant returning to intuitive energy work. I paired it with EFT and guided myself back to that moment—back to the version of me who took on that lie. I acknowledged her feelings. I asked what she needed.
She wanted to hang up after the first limiting belief was lobbed—not to “make nice.”
So we did that. We rewrote the moment.
Then, I anchored into the truth: No one can limit what’s possible for me. I AM.
Not as an affirmation—but as a full-body knowing. I waited until it vibrated through every cell. That’s how I knew I was back in my light.

Triggering Is an Invitation
Finding a literary agent is a lot like internet dating (which, for the record, has never been my path—I met my soulmate another way). Still, sometimes “shopping around” is necessary.
For me, this means reading a lot of boilerplate language… and getting triggered by it. One agent’s guideline—to only submit if I had a large public speaking platform—brought it all up.
But here’s the gift: Triggering is always an invitation to heal.
It feels uncomfortable at first—but if you let it, it leads you back to truth.
How do I know I’ve healed it?
Today, I received my first rejection letter from a literary agent. She kindly told me that she’s only accepting clients with big public speaking platforms—but she also warmly acknowledged the potential in my work.
I took a deep breath, smiled, and replied with ease and gratitude. “Good,” I heard myself say aloud. “Selection, not rejection.”
It felt as smooth as a summer breeze.
That’s how I knew I had cleared the distortion.
Clear Your Energy to Receive What’s Yours
I’m not here to say what’s right for your soul, or when. You may want a million dollars next year—and maybe that is aligned for you. Or maybe it’s not.
But if you trust yourself deeply enough to discern what is yours to receive, then the next step is clearing whatever beliefs contradict that knowing.
This is sacred inner work. Inquiry. Self-reflection. Excavation.
It’s not always comfortable—but it is powerful.
I knew I had to clear that icky, untrue belief—because I don’t want to attract a reflection of it. I want to be a bright beacon of inner knowing, not a dimmed-down version of myself carrying someone else’s lie.
When I feel 100% aligned with my soul-knowing, I know: mind, body, soul that nothing can stop what’s coming to me. That’s how I know I am truly ready.
✨Reflection Prompt:
Where in your life are you saying you want something… but deep down, believing it’s not possible?
What would it feel like to anchor into your soul-knowing instead?

Be the light that is all you have to do and those who need you will find you. Your perfect match for everything but you must shine ✨
