Are you feeling symptomatic (headaches, nausea) -or otherwise ‘off’? Perhaps you’re extremely busy and focused on keeping steady, so not noticing this, but since many of you are spiritual seekers, empaths, or astrologically inclined, you may be noticing a change in how you feel. Astrologically, several shifts have occurred recently, alongside the US election, and the upcoming holiday season—a time often marked by dis-resonant energy for sensitives.
Symptoms and Energy Shifts
When I inquired into this, I heard ‘energy adjustments are taking place’. I took this to mean this is occurring on a collective, broad, level. This tracks. To me, (currently) it feels like we are collectively moving through thicker, denser more contracted energies. And yet, in other moments I notice increased lightness, and expansion. I increasingly feel we’re learning to hold multiple vibrations that may feel opposite- but are actually just a bit more extreme.
When I start having unusual physical symptoms, and all other aspects of my health feel otherwise good, I check in with my Connection to see if there’s anything that I can do that would better support my sense of alignment. I may check with my friends who are empathic and energy sensitive to see how they feel. I’m often validated, and get to see how connected we all are.
Our physical bodies need our care. When symptoms, fatigue, or other health conditions flare, it’s not necessarily a ‘sign’ to rush to the doctor, or worry. However, it is a sign to listen inward, and ask yourself what you can adjust.
These physical and emotional experiences are sometimes tricky to quantify, but the astrological alignments we're moving through may shed some light.
Astrological Energies
Is what we’re feeling a post-election fallout, created by the complex emotions of humans? The 11:11 portal? Solar flares? Planets? Divine Consciousness, itself? Explaining energy through any one thing doesn’t feel entirely accurate for me. I’m not diminishing any of these; it’s all valid energy.
As an astrologer, one particular aspect may clarify our experiences. A Mars-Pluto opposition occurs within 6 degrees of orb through April 27, 2025 (‘astrological orb’: range of degrees around an exact angle in an aspect that is still considered active). Mars, the warrior planet, represents honesty, strategy, and our visceral survival life-force energy. Pluto, on the other hand, governs the invisible: our shadow, gut-level intuition, and subtle energies.
This aspect combination creates a unique quality of focused, magnetic energy. While it can be harnessed productively, the challenge lies in managing hidden or unconscious tension that builds up over time.
Release Pent-Up Energy
Do you have a cat? Mine gets super riled up at night and needs to release the energy through play; otherwise, she gets bitey and tears up the furniture. Mars-Pluto aspects are like this. Imagine a coiled spring of energy: tension builds over time, often hidden beneath the surface. Eventually, like my cat Bean, the energy must release physically—or it risks becoming destructive.
I observed this around the US presidential election time 11/4, when everyone’s emotional energy built-up leading into the election, and then it felt pretty icky afterwards. Around then, I found myself dancing alone to loud music, and doing more physical and viscerally releasing type things.
Key dates for this aspect:
11/3/24 (29 Can/Cap), 1/3/25 (1 Leo/Aqu), 4/27 (3 Leo/Aqu)
Around the above dates, ‘the world’ will be releasing pent-up energy. This means you, or those around you, and either way it helps to know.
Personally, I have this aspect in my natal birth chart. It’s made life interesting! Daily physical exercise is necessary. But so is intuitive energy work. I walk, do cardio on the elliptical, qigong, and intuitive energy practices, daily. Generally, you may feel you need to release more physical energy during this time period, or that you have more energy available for focused projects.
Additionally I’ve had to acknowledge the invisible nature of energy around me, and work with it in various ways. I’ve had to become aware of the impact of environmental, collective and other people’s energy, and how it all affects me. You may find this is true for yourself during the next five months, as well.
A Quick Energy Lesson
Imagine that you go to a job every day where several people smoke. You go home. Does that smoke disappear when you leave? No. It lingers until you wash it off.
Energy is similar—it lingers. In environments with dis-resonant energy, such as a workplace with several energetically misaligned people, you might not consciously notice it, but the effects stay with you. Just like washing off smoke, clearing your energy is essential to restore balance.
If you don’t clear your energy, it can build up over time. Maybe you try to shake it off with a glass of wine or by zoning out with Netflix or social media. But unprocessed energy accumulates and, depending on how misaligned it is for you, may lead to symptoms like fatigue or irritability. Energy must go somewhere—if left unchecked, it often affects your emotional or physical well-being.
I consciously release external energies, daily. The greater the numbers of dis-resonant energies I encounter, the more intentional my self-care becomes. A friend calls me a ‘boundary ninja’, because I manage who I interact with, how, and when. This practice has been essential for my balance and well-being.
I also know that when I have strong boundaries, honor my inner timing, my authentic needs and differences, when I keep my inner circle clear, and am in total alignment with myself…when I am joyfully doing what it is that I truly want to do… my energy thanks me for it. When I wasn’t as aware of this, my health suffered. Energy awareness is absolutely necessary for my health.
I feel the energy adjustment we’re undergoing for the next few months involves better acknowledging and manage your energies.
Plus: Let’s add Mercury (11/27-12/16) -and-Mars retrograde, RX. Mars retrograde begins 12/6 (6 Leo) lasting thru 2/23/25 (17 Cancer), amplifying the Mars-Pluto aspect. Mars RX slows us down, invites us to reassess how we use energy, leadership, and boundaries. With Pluto involved, we’re also asked to acknowledge subtle, invisible energies, and navigate these with finesse.
Practical Tips To Manage Your Energy
As we head into this holiday time period, how can you manage your energy to prevent burnout and illness, and also just straight up feel better?
Examine your energetic boundaries. Where are you leaking energy? Where are you saying ‘Yes’ when you want to say ‘No?’ Regarding all things you’re considering: Are you willing to wait for your authentic ‘Yes’?
Ask: What would give me energy right now? Ask your body (not mind).
Ask: What one joyful thing I can do, right now, to lift my spirits? Do it.
Ask: What energy am I giving off? Yes, we see you! We see your energy.
Revise your holiday traditions so that they’re in better alignment with you (you’ll feel better). More on this to come, in a future post.

Thank you. I read your post after some inner attention, observing knots and remembering someone telling me "don't be so harsh with yourself". Maybe I just understood this a little bit better. I always think it's just me when I'm not at ease. I check the energies as transits on my own chart, and I wonder how I could differentiate between my own stuff and what's collective...

I’m having way different mucus from my chest and this concentrated spot on my right foot, like a bug bite or string.
Going to looking into alt things like GNM and TCM to see where these are deriving from!
